These fountain sculptures were made for the seed company Bejo in North Holland and although they are immediately recognizable as representations of vegetables, their disarming appearance is only the outer layer of their meaning.

Every aspect of the water sculptures – from their theme, material, size and location, to their functionality and the incorporation of technology – is in some way emblematic of their surroundings, and all serve to embed the works into their physical and conceptual context, and enrich them with another layer of meaning. The visual language is clear and accessible, and yet the process it describes is both complex and poetic.
